Under the rules laid down by CERN and by the European Union, we are obliged to provide this tiresome text, so here you go.
The CERN Dancing Club is a non-profit association which organises dancing courses and dancing parties. This privacy policy will explain how we use the personal data we collect from you when you use our website.
We, the CERN Dancing Club, do not collect any personal information when you simply visit our web site. We only collect such information when you fill in our inscription form. When you subscribe to dancing courses at our Club, we collect the following data:
We collect this data when you click the 'Subscribe' button of our inscription form, after you filled in all this yourself. We may modify or add to that data at your request. We complement it with payment data obtained from our banking relations, or from the paper journal sheets used for cash transactions.
We use your data to keep track of who wishes to participate in our dancing courses, who paid for the courses, when, by what means, the amount and in what currency. We use it to make membership cards and name badges to wear during the dancing lessons. We use your email address to keep you informed about dancing parties, practice sessions and possible incidents, like dropped courses, replacement lessons and anything else that may need to be communicated to course participants, either individually or collectively. At any time, you may request that we remove your email address from our database, simply by sending your request by email to dancing.club@cern.ch.
We do not share this data with any other company or organization. We do not communicate this data to other subscribed persons or to the dancing teachers. Your data is stored on CERN computer systems under a computer account owned by the CERN Dancing Club and is protected by the CERN standard Single Sign-On security. Access is restricted to members of the CERN Dancing Club Bureau and to our auditor, an ex CDC president.
We keep this data for 10 years. Once this time period has expired, we will delete this data.
